What is our focus?

Hihiko Te Rawa Auaha seeks to support communities towards STEAM enablement; developing tailored plans that address their needs and accelerate STEAM skills among kura and their whānau.

How will we achieve this?

Our goal is to promote collaboration in the development of STEAM access, capability, and infrastructure in Māori communities.

We help to provide devices, training, resources, and growth opportunities alongside key STEAM providers best placed to support their delivery.

Why is it important?

Approximately 1/3 of the Māori economy sits within the wider BOP, yet Māori are significantly underrepresented in key growth sectors.

In addition, roughly 44% of all young people in the region are Māori – whose futures are set to be heavily impacted by this disparity if left unaddressed.
